9.30-10.30, scouts and gym didn't finish until 9ish and she had a go up at 10ish, but lights on to 12 big sister to distract her.

Being three years younger has never caused DD2 to go to bed any earlier than her sister. In fact for years she still BF while DH read to DD1.

Then she cornered DH instead and at 12 still does

My 7 and 4 year children have to go to school at 6 am

Hope that's a typo!

Our breakfast club opens at 7.30am

Somewhere between 9 and 9.30

When DD was 11, she went to bed at 8pm as she needed loads of sleep. When DS was 11, it was upstairs at 8.30, lights out 9ish as he needed a lot less. IIRC!

between 8.30 and 8.45 on a school night, but no later at the weekend. DD and DS get up around 7.00 am.

11y DD - lights out around 9pm on a school night. She will often go up and read for a while beforehand.
Weekends and holidays - very flexible.

8:30 on a school night. Supposed to be 9:00 at the weekend but on a Saturday it is closer to 10. Ds is 9 and in yr 5.

My 9y/o dd usually goes to sleep at around 8:45/9:00, despite the fact that I am always telling her to go to sleep after a few minutes of reading time. Her normal bedtime is 8:15, but she spends about half an hour reading in bed.

Proper sleep is very important for everyone specially the growing children. My 7 and 4 year children have to go to school at 6 am. So I have fixed a time for them to sleep, its up to 9.30 PM. If I don’t they tend to keep on playing till late at night. But on the weekends I let them do as they wish no fixed timings for them on the weekends.

Ds is 9.5 bedtime 9pm. Frequently reads till 9:30 or 10. Up at 7 (self wakes ) for school sadly he just doesn't need much sleep.

Dd(11) is in her room by 9, usually a bit earlier, and lights out at 9:30 on a school night - she's just not tired enough earlier despite huge amounts of exercise and earlyish starts 4 mornings out of 5

8 (nearly 9) goes at 8 on school night (that's in bed, lights out by then) as he's up about 7:45. On a Friday he can stay up until 9 and then Saturday it's 8 again (he is a total grump without sleep). That said, for special occasions such as New Year/ weddings/ holidays etc it's whenever he crashes; I don't think he resents usual early bedtime as he recognises he is grumpy without sleep and knows he's allowed to stay up for fun stuff.

DSD & DSS are 10 and 11. We aim to have them in bed by 7.30. They each have a bit of book read and lights are out by 8.15. DSS will be up at 6 whatever time he goes to bed and neither of them do well on little sleep. At the weekends they are in bed by 9 and no reading.

11 yo DD2 8.20 every night of the week but I start telling her its bedtime at 8.00.

On a school day she can lay in until 7.30 but on weekends she needs to be up at 6.30 confused

She has always needed a lot of sleep and now she does a lot of sport as well.

Dd, nearly 11 goes up about 8 and reads til 8:30. She's up at 6:45. Weekends it can depend on what we're doing and how shattered she is.

9pm except Saturday which is 10pm to watch Casualty.

perceptionreality Wed 16-Oct-13 08:51:42

Mine are nearly 10 and nearly 12 - they go to bed at 9.30pm.

dobedobedo Wed 16-Oct-13 08:49:55

8 (nearly 9) year old goes to bed at 9pm on a school night, and the same or sometimes later on weekends. Any earlier and he's not tired enough and is up half the night!

valiumredhead Wed 16-Oct-13 08:46:40

Ds is just 12 and it's in bed by 8.30 and read until 9. Later at the weekends but not past 10 as he gets so grumpy the next day.

OldBeanbagz Wed 16-Oct-13 08:41:51

11 year old DD - bed at 9pm & up at 6.45am
Weekends - no set bedtime as it depends what we're doing

VerySmallSqueak Tue 15-Oct-13 22:01:45

SoonToBeSix Tue 15-Oct-13 21:59:06

Crazycake Tue 15-Oct-13 21:55:26

I feel a bit mean now, my 9yo goes to bed at 7.30! He's fast asleep within minutes an usually wakes around 7.30 am. He's always slep 12 hours since being a couple of months old.

iheartdusty Tue 15-Oct-13 21:42:16

11 y/o, supposedly 9.30pm. Has to be up at 6.30am for a 7.30 departure for school.

Generally, still in bath reading with door locked at 9.25, followed by shouting and door slamming (Oh MUM! leave me ALONE! it's MY life etc etc etc) until 10.00.
