Books on Puberty

My DD aged 8 is very interested in when her boobs will grow, when she'll get pubic hair and other puberty related things. We talk about it openly but I'd like to get her a book so she can refer to it when she wants to. I've had a good look at the library and online and they all seem to cover sex and baby making aswell. I don't mind her knowing about sex and how babies are made but they all go into massive detail about other topics such as masturbation and one even talked about being sewn up after you have a tear during childbirth!! They seem aimed at a slightly older audience.

Does anyone know any good fairly basic level books that cover just the basics to get us started?

Usborne "What's happening to me?" is very good and age appropriate. It does talk about sex. My friend's daughter who is 10 has the girls' one and my son who is 8 has the boys' one. The only thing I didn't like about the girls' one is that they talk about measuring for a bra and then adding 5 inches - it needs a bra intervention!

I second "What's Happening to Me?". You can get it from Amazon and some book shops. My daughter wanted to go off and read it on her own immediately. I asked her if she had any questions and she said no, so at that time I just pointed out I was there if she had or if she had any worries while growing up. During Years 5, 6 and 7 my daughter's schools have talked to them about growing up, what will happen to them, periods, babies etc, but I think it's always good to come from a parent in the first instance.
