im a single dad with two boys (7 & 11) and had some help from social worker with some issues I had in the past.

had visit on wednesday and she was nearly 25 minutes early just as boys were in bath and she seemed horrified and started asking loads of questions about it and how often they share bath and then askig if they share a bed etc etc. they have their own rooms but THEY sometimes choose to sleep in same bed. i said they are brothers and have done it for years! she looked at me like i was a pervert.

should i have stopped them sharing a bath before now? seems normal and natural to me but now i feel like she thinks im a weido!!!!

eldest has started puberty a bit in a few areas so he will probably want his privacy soon anyway.

feeling very worried and upset. any advice?

I don't think it's odd. They'll let you know when they want their privacy.

I'm impressed actually. I had to stop mine bathing together because it was the only way to control the silliness/splashing etc.

thanks ive been so worried and not slept again last night.

do you think i should tell them they have to stop becasuse social services said so? or just wait for eldest to stop on his own time with puberty etc

hard enough been a single parent without this rubbish from social services who are supposed to help not judge me

Mine are 10 and 8 and one girl one boy. They still play with each other at each other's bathtime. One in the bath naked and the other dressed or bare chested next to the bath.

If your eldest is a people pleaser you could perhaps mention that he can have his own bath when he wants even if his little brother wants to share still/he's overheard you gasping at the water bill or whatever other reason might hold him back. Or he might prefer to start having showers or whatever just in case he's worried about suggesting other options.

thanks for the tips. he probably has heard me moaning about the water meter but ill give it a try saying about showers.

thanks a lot
