What do 11 year old boys want for Christmas?

Friends and family keep asking in increasingly desperate tones what DS wants. Problem is, he doesn't want anything! His main present is going to be a Kindle, so I've said 'Amazon voucher' but people want to give a 'thing' and I can't think of anything! He's past the age for toys, already has loads of nerf guns, and friends/family don't want to give PS3 games which is about the only thing he actually wants.

Any ideas for some cool stuff?

Mine likes books (Robert Muchamore etc), gadgets and money.

When I say gadgets, I mean the sort of things you find in those 'gifts for men' catalogues. Survival tool type stuff.

Thanks 3b1g, 'gadgetry' is exactly what I had in mind. Just find it so hard to know what will actually be 'cool' or useful and what will just be 'money spent on something useless'!

You are very good to put your DS's tastes first. I'd be more concerned about which gifts I wouldn't mind cluttering up my house!
