Girl Guides - not sure about this group

My DD is 10 and has left Brownies which was so friendly and welcoming. The Guides I want her to go to has 36 guides and a long waiting list, so she has started with another local one that only has 12 guides and no waiting list! My concern is these girls don't seem very friendly and rather clique and the leader is friendly enough but no real charisma.

My DD really wants to be a guide so is putting a brave face on it.

Do you think this group wil get better for my DD as they get to know each other or will it put her off Guides altogether?

I think you should stick it out for a while and as long as your daughter is happy thats what matters. Just keep making sure your DD is mindful of the good reasons she is Guiding, so if she does leave that group it doesnt put her off altogether. If you cant get into the "good" group, there is no point dragging out the experience with the bad group. There are other areas for your daughter, such as Duke Of Edinburghs Award or Scouts.

I think I would get her to attend the smaller group (as long as she is happy to do so) and keep her name on the waiting list for the other group.
