Toddler getting colours mixed up

My DD2 is 2 years annd 8 months and is generally very quick at picking things up but seems to get her colours mixed up. She does know them sometimes but hen will say pink a lot for every colour.

Can anyone recommend any books or techniques that help them to learn their colours?

Thanks
Joanne

DD, now 3.1 confused green and yellow for the last 6 months having previously been great at identifying colours. I started researching colour-blindness and then she just stopped doing it.

Not sure whether it was an attention thing, or whether she just got confused for a time. HTH

We used to walk along shouting out the colours of the cars parked alongside (city child!)

Just incorporate it into daily life; "you've got a lovely yellow jacket," or "do you want the pink plate or thge red one?" or " Do you want the red pencil or the blue one?" etc

We did the same sort of thing and she grasped them very early. I tend to think that she realised she got a reaction when she mixed them up and so she played on it.

As small orande says, it's just about making it a game- first one to spot a red car, or tell me when you see a lady carrying a blue bag, pass me the yellow cup etc etc
