DD, 2.5 attends a Montessori nursery, 2 mornings a week.I've just picked her up and popped her straight up to bed, and after a rousing chorus of Baa Baa Black Sheep, our usual bedtime song, she placed her hands together as though in prayer, and sang:'Thank you for the birds and bees, thank you for every thing. Amen.'I asked her where she sinds that, and she said at nursery. It's not a church-run nursery, and I can see form the diet sheet on the pin board that there are children of lots of different faiths at the nursery, so is this usual?I don't mind, not at all, but was really surprised. Would like to know others' thoughts.
If it is not a church-or-religious nursery, I would go and Have A Word.It could be that they said "This is what Christians do" as part of some RE.
Mine used to sing a form of grace before their lunch. I didn't mind either.
I've worked in several private nurserys and the children always prayed to God before lunch.
