Ofsted pupil's questionnaire - but my son is 2.5 and doesn't even speak yet....

Hi

We've just put DS into a nursery attached to a school. He is 2.5 and language is coming very slowly for him.

We just got a questionnaire from Ofsted in the post, which ostensibly DS is supposed to complete.

I'm all in favour of supporting Ofsted in their review of this school (I'll be desperat to see the report too!) but surely there is no way of completing the survey fairly. I could do it, but I'd only be guessing at the answers, and the questions are quite irrelevant (e.g. about books, etc).

What should I do? Ignore? Return with an explanation?

Beauraucracy in action, lol!
You could fill it in in toddler speak for a laugh.

Seriously, what are they thinking?

First question: I feel safe in this school: Always, Usually, Sometimes, Never.

Yeah, right!

If my son even could make a distinction between usually and sometimes, he is unable to grasp the concept of "safe" ....

utterly ridiculous IMHO.

Give your son a crayon and the questionnaire. When he is finished, write in a gap that it was completed by nursery pupil aged 2.5 (unless it asks for his name, they dont normally) and return.

Wish I was by this, but I'm not. As a director of a daycare moving into a new premises, thay have asked me 3 times for the same lot of information, once by phone and twice by post. As Twiglett says, they is twats.
