Oh great. Have hyped DD1 up about ballet at nursery and now they've changed the day so she won't be doing it!!!

DD1 (2y 7m) is starting nursery 3 mornings a week on 13 Sept. When I visited at the end of last term, her teacher said she'd be doing ballet on a Friday (she's doing M, W and F mornings) - now got a letter and it says ballet on Thursdays - AGH! Have bought ballet shoes and as far as she's concerned NURSERY = BALLET. She tells everyone she meets and practises all the time at home. I was really pleased that this was something to make her feel positive about starting nursery - she's going to be devastated and I'm worried it could mess the whole thing up (she's been at home with me full-time till now).

I've arranged to go to groups with DD2 on DD1's nursery days - and paid - but I suppose one option is to see if I can change one of her days to a Thu (altho the day-on-day-off thing seemed ideal to me); otherwise I guess I'm going to have to find ballet classes for her elsewhere ...

And break the news to her in the meantime ...

Agh.

Oh no, how annoying and awkward for you. And your dd. Have you spoken to the nursery about it? Can you change your activities to another day?

Will look into changing activities to another day - and will check with nursery that Thursdays are permanent! Grr. Haven't broken the news to DD1 yet ... Also investigating separate ballet classes - altho that'll only work if I can leave her there, as I also have 1yo DD2 to entertain ...

You should be able to leave her at most ballet classes I think, though some will want you to remain on the premises.

What a shame about the day change.
