Hey there, I am after some ideas, my son will be leaving his lovely pre-school next week to start at Reception in school in September. He was very happy at the pre-school and we love it so much that I recently became Chair on the committee. I also have another son who will be joining the preschool in January. As a leaving gesture, I want to say thank you to all the staff on my son's behalf but I feel that any greater gift may be a bit much given that I do give a lot of my time to help them run the place and am always happy to donate money generously. However, what can I perhaps give that would be a nice gesture? I was thinking of creating a nice card wth a picture of my son and maybe his drawings or something for all. Chocolates seem a bit naff and may just end up at the next raffle :) What do people do? Given that I have nother son coming I am sort of planning to make a bigger donation when both of them have moved on...

My son just left his lovely pre-school, I made homemade thank-you cards with rosette's stuck on the front. They can take the rosettes off and wear them with sticky back plastic. I also took my DS to a local pottery painting place and he made them little plates with his handprint in the middle and then painted and stamped stars around the edge. I wrote 'thank you' at the top and 'love xx' at the bottom.

Handmade card and small gift for the key worker and a donation of books to the pre-school itself.

I am spending the afternoon eating my way through a truly delicious box of homemade petit fours from one of my parents!

I don't want to know how bad for me they are Blush

To be honest, we get loads of wine, chocolate, biscuits and so on, which is very kind. However, we love it when a parent says 'what do you really need for the preschool?' and buys us some books, or ELC vouchers or something.

Card made by dd and 3 superhero capes for the playgroup made by me. Tip; if anyone else does it, buy poly cotton instead of the cheap satin stuff I did that was hell to sew!

My son recently left his private day nursery and I bought just a few inexpensive personal items for the main worker Inc the key worker in his area. I went to a shop Tiger (reminds me of ikea but much smaller) I bought a cake stand for £4 and an oriental teapot with a few teacups for £5. Something they will be able to keep/use and a reminder of your Ds/Dd. Depends on budget and time. Well done to hophop... For sewing madness I don't have the skill.
