Hi everyone in this community. Please can you help those less fortunate than ourselves. I am currently doing a food bank challenge and donating each week to those in need. I have a list of items I am going to donate (have donated) just trying to help out where I can. I worked for community midwifery for a short while and was shocked at the level of unknown poverty. there is a hidden need in the UK. The British stiff upper lip is quivering around the edges. Families with next to nothing, not knowing where their next meal is coming from and definitely not able to prepare for future needs. Please, if you are able, and totally understandable if you are not, give what you can to a food bank. Canned/long life food, toiletries, feminine hygiene, household cleaning products. Thank you.

I agree, but if you can give a regular DD with gift aid, this can allow your food bank to have greater buying power and let them choose what is actually needed on th ground. I know that this is less popular, but might be more effective longer term.

I totally agree EzzieLove if everyone gives a little then a lot of families get fed. On the news last night there was a lady saying how everyone should help, that there are many families destitute and 'it is not enough to just let charities do it' and she is right. Obviously some people are not able to give, but if the people who can, do, many children will not go to bed with their tummies rumbling. In the 21st century in a rich country this should definitely not be happening. Sad

I agree. Regular weekly donator here, plus I have gathered some bits which will be donated later on if shit hits fans early next year.
And if it doesn't hit fan, I will continue donating as normal.

I never leave a food shop without donating something. I’m wheat and dairy free and know how hard and expensive it is. So I always add something from that aisle.

I don’t always have lots of money. So some weeks it is more than others. But I do try
