I have a Brexit stash which has been very useful lately. I never had any breakfast food in there but I'd like to add some breakfast food.

Any ideas of dried or tinned food that can be eaten for breakfast?

Porridge Oats. Surprisingly delicious made with water if you stir on the hob while cooking. Up to you if you want to add chocolate chips, fruit, peanut butter etc.Wink

Krusteaz pancake mix. You can buy it from amazon. My kids love it. Feels like a treat but you actually just add water. Someone recommended it on this board before covid. It’s a 5kg packet and has a long date. During the big lockdown I added frozen blueberries to it.

Are you assuming no milk and therefore no cereal? My 9 & 12 year olds will still happily chomp on dry rusks and jam spread on a weetabix

Flour and yeast or bread mix so you can make bread for toast spread with jam, honey, marmite, peanut butter

Long life oat milk good for smoothies with frozen bananas and peanut butter

Tinned fruit, dried fruit

If you have freezer space you can do omelettes, pancakes etc you can also get frozen pastries from Iceland for £1
We have 2 boxes of breakfast bars from Costco, we have the porridge you just add water too and can mix jam/fruit too

Beans or tomatoes in toast make good breakfast. Plenty of baking ingredients for bread, home made pancakes/ flat breads/ focaccia/ muffins etc. Oats are the best though, really. Porridge, oat pancakes, oat muffins, breakfast tray baked, flapjack, granola, homemade cereal bars, etc. A variety of dried fruits, bits, seeds, spices, herbs, chocolate, flavourings and you can make many things with oats. I like savoury oats too, especially savoury oat muffins, so doesn't have to be sweet

Banana pancakes, mixed tin fruit, warm scones, eggy bread, cheese on toast/omlettes, cheese is easy to freeze as are eggs, oats and nuts plus dried fruit always handy to have in plus treacle, honey, jams

Pasta and stir in sauce...
Last night's tea (meal)

Dried milk and cereal
Porridge plus golden syrup,or jam or sugar or dried fruit etc
Fried potatoes and baked beans
Flat bread

Anything would be ok for breakfast if it is quick and easy. You really don't need it to be breakfast food.

Powdered milk and oats for porridge. You can get just add water instant porridge, which I do for work, but it is a more expensive option. If you have live yoghurt, you can make more yoghurt using it as a starter with powdered milk.

I avoid carbs in my diet (though if needs must I eat and enjoy them 😉)
So I very often eat leftover dinner for my breakfast.
Cereal and such is just habit... Nowt wrong with curry for breakfast!

In my very broke days I have been known to have porridge for dinner too...

In student days I used up milk by making porridge and freezing it.

In about January/February, I bought a load of single porridge servings in pots that you just add water too. We didn’t eat them, so I still have them. Apparently they taste better with a bit of jam or syrup, and you have to eat them immediately or they go very gloopy and then solid. We would be fine with them though.

@BlackeyedSusan what's the porridge like once thawed?
@WellTidy those sound useful.
