I don’t know why another thread hasn’t been created yet , so here you go. Now as we prep ourselves to the peak of this pandemic, let’s all face it together and appreciate how fragile our lives are and how we need each other to survive and flourish.

I think I could have worded it better but I don’t want the post to be a long one. Just another place for us to put together our heads and sort the preps

Thank you! I think I refresh these prepper threads about every 10 minutes and i feel much more part of a likeminded community here than elsewhere.

@mrswhites I think you can stop worrying and keep your kids off school now - you should keep them home for 14 days if they have cough or temperature. After that Easter break will be here anyways.

I'm isolating for possibly 12 weeks. Have a Tesco shop booked with fresh stuff for the end of the month (first date available) so will have to see what arrives
I have food in - just a distinct lack of fresh fruit and veg. I do however have some disgusting greens powder and some multi vitamins so that should tide me over and my frozen meals I prepped all have veg in. I have some tinned fruit, tinned sweetcorn and frozen veg
And nobody to go out for me. Feels very surreal

Thanks for the new thread @Sprayitall

Sounds like they plan for schools to be closed for a number of months, with the mention of no exams!

@pasanda I hope your son gets home with no troubles!

Thank you for the new thread. I wanted to take a break from it all today but I needed some prepper sanity after a frustrating day. Elderly family can't get a delivery slot for weeks. They refused to listen to me over the past few weeks. Refused to let me arrange a delivery. Now they finally get it. Their lovely neighbour got them some essentials and I've spent most of the day on the phone or online trying to sort something out. One of them is still going out to shops despite being over 70 and having several underlying conditions. I wish people listened to advice.

I haven't had a chance to read the article but I noticed a headline about a Japanese flu drug showing some promise in treatment. Like the anti malarial and HIV drugs it seems to work only if given early before symptoms escalate to serious. I really hope (but don't trust) our government has got in enough stocks of these drugs. It also shows why early testing and diagnosis is important.

Personally I am relieved in one way that we all can keep our kids at home. But keeping them busy without much of social contact is going to be a big challenge. I don’t think I am ready for all this yet but if it helps stop spread “atleast a little” I am all for that because at this instance every little help from us to the nhs is crucial to flatten the curve.

Checking in for the new thread.
Client I'm the same in that we don't have much fresh stuff.

BTW when cheese is frozen is it OK to eat as in the block of it?. You just defrost as use as normal?

I brought seeds, tomato, cucumber etc and seed compost, and dh picked up manure and compost.

I've yet to get my hands on a cheap wilko green house though...

And we desperately need another chair in my living room so I'm not sure whether to run the gauntlet of ikea or see if it can be delivered.

Both dc have been off this week and today I took them to local woods. The joy of being out in spring. It was soul restoring.
I actually shed a tear when nt said they will open up their gardens for people to enjoy ❤️❤️🌿🦋🐌🌹🌻🌼.

@tryingtoprep I couldn’t book any slot with sainsburys and Waitrose, Ocado doesn’t have any new slots either. Tesco and Asda I haven’t tried deliveries yet as it’s not very near to where I live ( it’s more like we drive there usually to buy) I think I might start using my prep stuff much earlier than I thought so.

Already news reports of people saying they will be left with nothing since they won't be able to work. I'm just relieved I managed to persuade some friends and family to prep.

Cheese is fine frozen as a block. It just goes a bit crumbly when its defrosted.
