For people who feel prepping is foolish, have a look at what it's like in St John's NFLD. Five feet of snow has shut the city, and now the stores are allowed to open for a few hours for people to get food.

It's that kind of thing people need to consider. We get the odd but if dreadful weather here that shuts us down. Obviously not like in many parts of the world but it's the fact it rarely happens here that causes us problems when it does.
I would rather nothing tricky ever happened. That would be brilliant. Trouble is, tricky stuff comes out of nowhere so there's no harm in having some contingency plan.

We have had electric go off, and water at different times.

Chicken pox, flu, etc

School holidays with autistic children.

Christmas.
