Jars in shed

Hi folks
Can anyone give me a view on whether hard of pesto, pasta sauce, curry sauce etc. will be ok kept in a shed? Shed is not watertight, has some leaks, and not insulated so gets quite hot.
Am assuming tins will be ok, but my husband thinks the jars could be affected by the heat. Any thoughts?

Hi. Mine are in the garage. It's a risk I am prepared to take. As with all jarred goods, if it doesn't pop when opening, the seal is compromised.

Have you a small kitchen? It’s easy to remove the kick boards and you can fit loads of stuff under there. It’s like having an extra shelf and dark areas are better for long term storage. Just clip them back on and jobs done. I use it, because I used to store tools under there.

The damp might make the lids rust.

@S1naidSucks is right about the risk of tins getting rusty. I found some old tins that I had put away a few years ago and ...ahem ... forgotten about. They were in a plastic bag (I know better now) and without much air circulation. They had started to rust. The insides still looked ok but saving them was a step too far for DH. And for me, frankly.

Thanks. I'm keeping a fairly well rotated stock at the moment and not building up more but might look at some other storage options in the house too.
