I really wish they wouldn't write stuff like this. I know it happens every other year but it really sends my anxieties over the edge.

Apart from that I am also curious, would the rich and powerful be able to build an underground shelter capable of keeping them alive through something like that?

Isn't it very unlikely, with thousands of astronomers world-wide, including NASA, that a previously unknown planet would come swooshing right now, and that "The Mirror" would be the first to know about it? Chances are it's more of a fake news, a click-bait... Anyway, if it were true, you couldn't do anything about it. I can think of a thousand things more worrying, like the noro virus having contaminated the salad I just bought for lunch....
