Pram insert for prem baby?

Our little boy has arrived six weeks early and we are soon to be discharged from hospital (scary!).

We have the uppababy vista pram and will be getting the bus home with him in the bassinet.

Can anyone recommend a liner to keep baby from moving or sliding as the bassinet looks huge!

Uppababy don't seem to do one but I can't believe you can't get something generic if you hunt around.

You'll be surprised at how bulky a full snow suit is though.

I have exactly that pram, and my son was born at 33 weeks. I think you'll be fine without an insert, but if you have a car seat, you could use that on the pram frame instead of the bassinet as that will be much more supportive.

DD was 5lb 12oz when we came home and was fine in our a Vista. She looked tiny but wrapped up and a fluffy blanket over her she was fine.

We had our baby 6 weeks early and have a similar pram (the Uppababy Cruz). She did look a bit swamped in it but was fine. I did consider getting a sheepskin to put under her pramsheet to absorb some of the bumpiness, but didn't get around to it and now she seems robust enough not to need anything like that (12 weeks now).

I was much more worried about her in the car seat as she seemed very scrunched up.

My DD was born at 34+5 and was only just over 4lb when we left the hospital. We have the uppababy vista too, I bought this.... Primarily to use in the car seat but it was also good in the carrycot.

We left hospital when mine where 4lb and we didn't need anything in the carry cot, I had a pad thing for the car seat but they were quite happy in the carry cot.

John Lewis do a washable lambskin that is so, so lovely - soft, cosy and breathable. You'll be able to use it in the pram seat / buggy too.

I would also roll up a couple of blankets to put either side of him, if you're worried about him rattling about.

When we got our 29 weeker home he was so small I worried about him disappearing under the foot cover so had a bath sheet rolled up in t b e bottom of the carry cot. Slowly it changes to smaller towels.
Will the hospital let you leave in a pram most insist on a car seat even if you say your not going in a car

Congratulations! DD was also 6 weeks early. She was fine in the pram carrycot without any sort of liner. I think we put a rolled up blanket in a U shape around her feet and sides.

Mine was 11 weeks early and bounced all around the pram! I had a similar pram to yours. I used an insert (brand Summer) for a carseat but two rolled up towels either side (creating a bednest like in NICU) worked best.

Hello! Our DS was tiny when he arrived. He was 3.5lbs when he came home and we used a tiny traveller car seat insert (NCT was cheaper than Amazon) and a cot sheet folded under that so he was secure in the car seat. Worked well.
