Premature birth

Are there 100 Mumsnetters willing to donate £10 to support donor breastmilk banking in the UK?

This time we are not asking you to donate breastmilk although please go here if you are interested in becoming a milk donor (www.ukamb.org).

UKAMB (UK Association for Milk Banking - Every Drop Counts) is desperately trying to raise funds in order to continue its work to support and develop donor breastmilk banking. Breastmilk helps to save the lives of sick and premature babies, and without donor milk banks many babies who now survive, wouldn't have done so. Thanks to UKAMB we do have milk banks, yet much of the country still doesn't have easy access to donor milk and therefore we have a lot of work to do. We are focusing on communicating with health professionals working with premature babies, informing them of how donor milk can help the tiny babies in their care and for this we need funds.

We have had a very generous offer from the organic baby clothes company, www.makesachange.co.uk to double any donations to UKAMB via www.justgiving.com/makesachange-ukamb up to the value of £1,000! That's just 100 Mumsnetters at a tenner each and we're really hoping there's enough of you out there who will help!

Many thanks.

Just replied to your pm! Yes, this is a very slow part of MN! I frequently look here, but often not much happening!
