6 week scan

So because I've been bleeding I'm pregnant I'm getting a scan tomorrow just to see what's going on.im kinda nervous as I think if
It's bad news it will hit me hard but will try not to show it.
Can anyone say if they have been in a similar situation and how they do the scan so early as heard mixed things some say it's normal scan like on tummy others say they use a device down below
