Just had bad news at 14ish weeks that my fetus has severe issues. Scans have revealed several hemivertebrae, and also heart issues (too small), umbilical artery issues and basically senior fetal experts at our nhs hospital in London have presented us with options but do not seem to think the fetus has a chance of survival.
I was wondering, do doctors err on the side of recommending abortion if they think there is a real risk of serious health issues for the baby / fetus.
I'm scheduled for an abortion soon, and am doing it based on what they have said verbally about the baby's condition and structural issues. There is no known condition the baby has ie it does not have tribloidy syndrome.
