Any advice/experiences about fundal height: measuring 29cm at 35 weeks

Hi

Saw MW this week and I measured 29cm at 35w, I have measured this for the last 6 weeks. I knew she was going to say this as I do not feel that I have grown and also seem to have lost a couple of lbs.

We have a scan 1st thing Monday morning so pleased about that.

Baby is very active, heart beat is still nice and strong, the only other thing is my BP has gone up a little (usually 90/60 now 100/70).

I really don't know what it means and I know that the best thing is to wait till Monday...but feeling a little (lot) panicky.

So anyone going through similar or know anything about fundal height? Should I be so worried or is this something of a not exact science?

fundal height isnt an exact science, hence why its used as a guide to growth, but if they think there could be anything wrong they send you for a scan, like they are doing.

i wouldnt worry about your BP, its completely within normal ranges, and it going up by 10 doesnt mean much, especially when you were nice and low to begin with

i know your going to panic over the weekend, but theres nothing you can do until you whats going on with the baby.
hows your eating? are you eating enough? might put your mind at rest over the weekend if you eat lots of fruit, veg, protein etc?

good luck, i hope the scan can put your mind at ease, or at least find out whats happening so you can know.

hi, im 36 weeks and measured the same for 6 weeks, went to MW wed, had a scan the next day and the baby is bigger than average (!) and have normal fluid, sometimes its just the way they're laid,

Had the same with DD1 but at 29 weeks and she was 8lb 3oz when born!

I know its easy for people to say dont worry but honestly as long as your feeling lots of movement i wonuldnt worry.

If your quite active then its more likely your just all baby then any extra weight (thats what i was told, as walk alot and have a toddler)

Im sure all will be fine and it will be lovely to see baby again before u meet him or her,

Monday will be here in no time.

Hi,

My pregnancy was absolutely fraught with fundal height measurement trauma. I measured 29cms from 29 weeks onwards. I had a scan every week from 32 weeks, and I ga ebirth at 39 weeks to a perfectly healthy 6lb 1oz baby girl. She was beautiful and tiny, and nothing was wrong at all - she was just smaller than average.

I get a bit cross with all these measuring tapes, to be honest. They cause so much unnecessary angst.

I know Sappholit! Despite my vows not to worry spent all night prodding bump (gently) to make baby move as now panicking about movement.

Blasted tape measure!!!!
