No Weight gain - healthy?

At my booking in appointment I weighed 86kg, and at my 33week appointment I again weighed 86kg. Although Ive had hypremesis, I wonder is this healthy to not have gained any weight?

Is your bump measuring ok, and were the measurements at the 20 week scan all ok?

Im tall so 86kg puts me as a healthy size 14. My doc & MW had no concerns with my weight at the beginning, I havent been subjected to any extra screening because my BMI is below 30.

Im having a static growth scan on tuesday as there has been no growth for 3 weeks. Measurements at 20 week scan were fine though, was already measuring 11oz.

might be worth checkin on another set of scales, my weight 1 week ago was 15kgs up from prepregnancy weight, but at my appt this week the scales at the clinic put me at 75kgs lol, which is my prepregnancy weight!!!

i wouldnt worry too much as long as your bump is measuring the right height, if your worried talk to your midwives, im sure they can reassure you, if the dr was worried im pretty sure they would have asked.

as you have a slightly higher weight to begin with (sorry to assume your overweight in any way) you can afford not to gain much, and like i said, if the midwives or drs were worried, they would have said something.

what are your eating habbits are like? are you eating enough? lots of fruit, veg, protein etc?

With the HG Ive found it difficult at times to keep food down, but the food I do eat is healthy. Im no saint, there are naughty days, but nine times out of ten hubby does the cooking and always serves a balanced meal (meat 3 veg).

MW said it wasnt ideal, but was ok. She expects me to be lighter than start weight once Ive given birth.

I lost about 6 kgs at the start of my first pregnancy due to n&v and by 6 months or so hadn't put on any weight compared to my initial weight. I only put on a total of about 7kgs by the end of the pregnancy, but I was a very healthy weight to begin with so this didn't really matter.

You do find that very slim woman put on more weight because they need to compared to women who are a heavier weight to begin with.

As long as all your scans are normal I wouldn't worry.

I concentrate on drinking milk as I couldn't keep food down, milk has a suprising amount of goodness. I had lost a stone at the start so had to try hard to keep going.

You can look at losing 2and a half stone once your baby is born, as the baby, fluid and placenta and extra blood you are carrying is going to weigh around that much or even 3 stone if you are over 5f10

I lost weight both times I was pregnant, about 5kg each time (put it all back on after though!) and both babies were fine. But am a fairly big person to start off with.

Had a few extra growth scans first time round as a precaution.

Just don't be a smug skinny new mother. It makes you no friends!!

I lost weight too, had really bad hypremesis too and what I lost in body weight I put on in baby so my weight stayed pretty much the same throughout but then I lost over a stone once Id had ds and came out a size smaller than when I had gone in!! Best diet I've ever done, but not recommended??
Same happening this time too. If no one else worried then dont worry

The foetus is very good at extracting the things it needs from your body anyway, so you will suffer before the baby does.

You will most likely be fine. I am currently 26 weeks and weiged 78kg when I got pregnant (BMI = 28). I am still 10 pounds under that weight and will most likely only be back to my pre pregnancy weight at full term.

Exactly the same thing happened with both my other DC's and they were fine - DD was nearly 9 pounds! I also didnt 'grow' for a few weeks in terms of fundal height and actually measured 34 weeks at 40 weeks with DD - needless to say they were surprised when she popped (well kind of ) out.

I had hyperemesis all three times by the way - lost weight until 18 weeks then gradually better til about this point when I can just about eat.

Thanks girls. My HG has continued all the way through so I put the no gain to that. I guess I shall see on tuesday how LO is doing. 3 weeks with no growth is a little concerning, but I had bad HG again recently so maybe she has got bigger but the flesh around her has got smaller??? Is that possible?
