NCT discounts for low incomes

I got the info through for NCT classes today, DH and I are keen to do them but we're worried about the cost, he's a student (over the age of 22, unfortunately!. Together we only earn slightly over £25k at the mo. The info seems to suggest that DH and I might be eligible for a discount on the fees because we're seen as being in a lower income bracket, but how do they know this ? I'm going to fill in the form about help with costs and send it back, but so they ask for proof of income ?

I from what I understand they rely on your honesty. I don't think they ask for any proof of income. NCT are a charity for parents and parents to be and the fees they charge are to cover costs and provide training for more antenatal teachers and breastfeeding counsellors. They do however, try to make sure that their services are available to all regardless of income.

I used to belong using the £1 membership as I was on benefits. However I found them to be a bit snooty about it. It really put me off. Can't remember what happened but I remember feeling quite humiliated.
