Pregnancy

Faint PG test at 11 weeks, am worried

Forgive my neuroses - I started the sleeping tablets thread yesterday and now I'm back again...

Am 11 weeks pg. Many positive tests back in January including posh one. About a month ago my boobs stopped hurting and started feeling normal again. They are still massive but not nearly as tender etc as they were before and it might be my imagination but I don't think they're quite as massive as they were.

Other than the big boobs I have absolutely not one single other symptom of pg.

I tested to comfort myself 2 weeks ago, test was positive.

Tested again today, ebay cheapie. test is positive but test line showing about half as strong as control line. Surely by 11 weeks I should be full of hormone and getting a really solid test line?

Just be straight with me, how does this look to you.

I used ebay cheepies. They gave me faint positives from quite early on, but they never turned bold.

HPTs really only measure the presence of HCG in a yes/no manner, not how much there is.

So what I'm saying is, don't put to much interpretation into those lines.

Could be that everything is all right, could be that it isn't. The lines aren't going to tell you. Do you have a scan coming up?

Wishing you all the best!

Thanks meita, that sounds a bit more reassuring. Scan is next week but it's £200 private nuchal test scan.

I'm terrified of turning up to private clinic for fancy scan and being told 'sorry love, there's nothing there. That'll be £200 please'.

My lines on my internet cheapies never ever got as strong as the control line and IM now 25 weeks. It drove me mad - was convinced it was all going to be over soon due to this, especially since they were 10ml detetction ones (or whatever its called) the extra early detection ones....and all was fine, so what im saying is try not worry. I have heard that the more expensive tests have a bolder line, maybe try one of those if it puts your mind at rest.

try not to worry too much - HCG levels reach their peak at 8-10 weeks and then start to drop off. Good luck with the scan, hope it goes well.

stop testing! The darkness of the line can be affected by all sorts of factors. Those early weeks can be pretty scary, but doing more tests won't help.

I say this as someone who, in my first pregnancy, tested again at 9 weeks with a clearblue digi and proceeded to spend the 4 weeks until my scan absolutely bricking it because the result had taken a full two minutes to show up (compared to my first test at 5 weeks - a normal clearblue one which showed a dark line immediately).

Fluctuating pregnancy symptoms/no symptoms apart from big boobs - also very normal. This happened with me too.

Hey,
I totally understand how scans can be nerve-wracking! You soooo want them for the reassurance, but at the same time you're soooo afraid they'll just be bad news.

Try to keep in mind that it's not the scan that will decide your babies fate. If your LO didn't make it (which sadly is a possibility), wouldn't you want to know?

But on a more positive note, by 11 weeks I had very little going in terms of symptoms, and was terribly worried because boobs were distinctly un-sore. But the scan at 12 weeks revealed a healthy heartbeat and everything as it should be.

Try to stay positive - as hard as it is. IF this pregnancy fails, you will have enough heartbreak when and if. So why spoil it now? Try to enjoy it while it lasts, and cross those bridges when... IF you reach them, ok?

MorrisZapp - i was the same in the means like i kept thinking that i was going to the scan and they would tell me that there was nothing there!
You haven't got long to go and then you can stop worrying! Good luck!

I am 10.5 weeks pregnant and really don't have any symptoms now at all except tiredness (but I always get tired!). At first I was gagging about 5 times a day and had sore boobs but now nothing, I am a bit worried to be honest and can't wait till scan but everything says its quite common not to have symptoms so don't worry!!!! Good luck with scan!

the HCG which causes a pos pg test is in rapid decline by 11 weeks.... so could even show negative
