Pregnancy

New to Chester, first pregnancy (22+5) at 38 and need to giggle!

Hi. I have recently relocated to Chester after travelling(mainly Africa) and living down south. I have a great family near by and a wonderful partner however I feel a little starved of female friends.

I am really missing that naughty afterwork cocktail whilst ogling at men far too young for me whilst gossiping about total irrelevance!

Is this cabin fever normal during pregnancy?

Oooh I live in Chester! First baby due 15th April so a few weeks further on than you. Have you booked antenatal classes yet?

Hi Passionberry

I am so sorry I took so long to reply but I was away from my computer for a few days (stayed with the folks who have yet to log onto the wonders of the net!!)

Thank you for replying and for asking about antenatal classes. As a result of your memo I asked about them at my midwife meeting today.

I actually thought you were automatically put on them and was quite surprised when Debbi (midwife) informed me I had to arrange them myself!! Imagine if I had left it and just waited for the appointment to come through the post!!

She has given me some contacts and information to read. I think we may look at the NCT ones as I like the sound of smaller groups and more activities. £135 seems a small price to pay for something I so obviously am going to need!

Have you had any recommendations?

Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way:-) It is great isn't it. I am loving it 90% of the time. Do you know if it is a boy or girl?

We are having a girl. (80% sure - 20% very shy boy!!)

Take care

XC

Sorry - I completely missed this post! Don't know if you're still around ClaireVictoria but hope you found someone to chat to on here . . . I was going to suggest looking at the ante-natal threads for people due in March/April.

Hiya, I am 33 and lived / worked in Chester for most of this (recently moved to great sutton - as cheaper house prices!)
I am now 21 wks, due on 25th June. Don't want to find out what were having, as I loved the suprise with number 1 so much!
I have a 15 month old boy, so luckily, I don't have the daunting feelings of what is going to happen!
I loved my first pregnancy, even the natural birth.
This time round, I have suffered a slipped disk, so have been in pain for the past 5 wks - ouch!
If you need any tips on Chester give us a shout!

Hi mommymeggie, Congratulations on your new baby!

I am 34 weeks with my first now - if you have any tips on where to go/things to do in Chester with a new baby that would be really helpful!

I live near the city centre BTW.
