this is my 3 rd pregnancy,but i don't remember these pains before.im 23 weeks.
they are accross my tummy and feel like period pains/wind...have been getting them when i bend down (to pick up after kids!) and then they eased when i rested.#but now they are constant even when i'm sitting.am getting really worried but don't want to go to the midwife unless i have to.

my cousins wife has just lost their twin boys after going into prem labour, and am scared

Any chance it's a water infection? I had terrible abdominal pains last week and that's what it was. Or constipation? Has it been a while since you had a good poo?

Just ring the midwife!!!! That's what she's there for - just call her and either put your mind at rest or get whatever treatment you need. She would prefer you to just call her now rather than potentially make it worse by leaving it. Call NOW.

emsyj.....thanks for advice.it got quite bad so i rang and had to go into hoz.luckily didn't have to have an internal!they think it was more muscular, and nothing to do with baby which was obviously my primary concern. phew!

motherbeyond - I had the exact same thing 2 weekends ago. I can totally sympathise it was horrible. I got checked for a water infection and had a basic scan and they just said it was a rather bad bout of round ligament pain. As soon as I was told baby was fine I swear the pain got so much easier. The panic made it worse for me so hope you feel better soon x

yes,im sure the anxiety made it worse.i was told to take some paracetamol and lie down for an hour or two and then if it didn't subside,to ring the labour ward!
i lay in bed thinking "please stop, please stop" ...but it didn't.as soon as i heard the baby was fine,i burst into tears (that id been holding back all day!) and couldn't stop..looked a right muppet!am just very relieved. can cope with pains as long as it's nothing to do with my baby.
glad you're ok too

Round ligament pain is so frightening - I've had a few (not very bad) bouts of it and it sends me into full panic as this is my first pregnancy. Glad you're okay and hope you don't suffer too much!
