I had a really rough pregnancy the first time round, and I was wondering if any 2nd (or more!) timers had the same again.

I am just writing about this - there's a good website if you don't know it which I expect you do.

flamesparrow Mon 27-Jun-05 16:20:03

I'd be interested to know too...

madmarchhare Mon 27-Jun-05 16:20:41

I think Ive read everything published!, how come youre writing about it?

Fio2 Mon 27-Jun-05 16:21:06

I think prufock always suffered with it....

motherinferior Mon 27-Jun-05 16:21:58

article for a baby mag. this is the site, but you'll know them.

motherinferior Mon 27-Jun-05 16:22:23

No, she had obstetric cholestasis. Which I've just covered too

Fio2 Mon 27-Jun-05 16:23:50

ohh i am always getting mixed up!

motherinferior Mon 27-Jun-05 16:24:47

Shucks, I meant this lot

madmarchhare Mon 27-Jun-05 16:24:54

Ah yes, I have seen it. Only thing is, some suggest 50% chance of reoccurance, yet M/W, GP etc say not [confused emotion]. I though a good bet would be asking people that have actually been through it .

motherinferior Mon 27-Jun-05 16:25:14

You need my keen incisive journalistic brain, clearly, Fio

misdee Mon 27-Jun-05 16:25:33

all 3 of mine. sorry.

motherinferior Mon 27-Jun-05 16:25:40

I've been told it's pretty damn likely to have again, try the second link.

madmarchhare Mon 27-Jun-05 16:26:22

Aaarrgghh!, even worse, the second one suggests 75% .

madmarchhare Mon 27-Jun-05 16:26:54

misdee, how bad were you?

misdee Mon 27-Jun-05 16:28:51

i was lucky if i had one sick free day a week. i was actually hospitalised with dd3, as my ketones levels dropped too much.

dd1 was toldf by very horrible gp, that al women were sick, get on with it.

dd2 was too worried about dh to see gp, just threw up constantly.

dd3, again sick several times a day.

Fio2 Mon 27-Jun-05 16:29:47

I could do with your brain MI, would you like to swap?

misdee Mon 27-Jun-05 16:30:38

i also lost weigth with all my pregnancies. at the end of it weighed less than beofre i fell pregnant. dd's weighed in at 6lb 15oz, 9lb and 7lb 14oz.

motherinferior Mon 27-Jun-05 16:30:43

You would have to do a special exercise in Muddling Things and Dodging Work, Fio, and it's yours.

madmarchhare Mon 27-Jun-05 16:32:33

I ended up in hospital three times, it was a nightmare. Im just so scared of doing it again.

Jockey Mon 27-Jun-05 18:08:36

I don't have much luck with girls.

ds 1 - no sickness
dd 1 - sick sick sick!
ds 2 - no sickness
dd2 on the way - sick again!

spacecadet Mon 27-Jun-05 20:15:46

im afraid ive had sickness with every single preg which gets worse with each one, last 3 pregs i had to admitted to hospital and put on a drip.

dramaqueen72 Mon 27-Jun-05 20:41:05

ditto that, its got worse with each pg, awful awful time.

Moomin Mon 27-Jun-05 20:45:16

1st preg was nauseous much of the first 5 months and lost weight because I couldn't face any food; 2nd time round was actually chucking up as well as feeling sick. Ended up in hosp and eventually got better at around 14/15 weeks.

I know another friend & fellow mumsnetter who was hospitalised for both and was pretty sick right up to the end, poor thing.

spacecadet Mon 27-Jun-05 21:10:15

with dd2 the sickness never went away, until she was born!
