Does anyone else feel sick from the minute they wake until they go to bed? Have been feeling like this for 3 weeks now and cant imagine feeling like this for another 5 or 6 weeks - any tips much appreciated although already tried sea bands, eating regularly (seems to be the only thing that helps for a few minutes) and dont think could even face teh smell of ginger

I feel for you. I also feel sick almost all the time. I must say, this is a lot better than my first pregnancy when I had hyperemesis but it is still pretty miserable.

Ginger makes me puke too! And so does eating a biscuit before getting up (or at least it doesn't stop me puking and makes it much more unpleasant).

I am taking high doses of vitamin B6 and I do think it helps. It's a normal remedy in the US but hardly heard of here. I did get my GP to check it out but you can find info by googling it.

Other things that people have told me have worked for them are sucking polos/ fruit sweets or those wildly expensive preggy pop sweets.

I drink fizzy drinks which helps as my nausea is often caused by too much air, don't ask me why. The drinks help me burp and get rid of it - sorry if TMI!

I also find I feel worse if I have a nap so have put a stop to that.

I also have some foods that make me feel dreadful, such as chocolate so you might try cutting out things you've eaten when you feel really dreadful.

There are lots more but not htat I could swear too. I'm not sure that anything completely works, at least it certainly doesn't for me. Hope something there might help a bit.

I had hyperemesis both times so a bit more extreme but I found that eating small regular meals and keeping my blood sugar up helped lots. Lucozade was my saviour.

I also had/have hyperemesis but found that ready salted crisps worked some of the time! It's trial and error I think, some thigs make you feel worse than ohers so just try and avoid the things that make you feel sick (easier said than done, everything made me sick!) Also make sure you keep yourself hydrated so lots of water or juice etc.. orange squash worked for me and try and do something to take your mind off it if you can! It's a bugger hun, I totally know what your going through as do most of us here! Big hugs xxx

oh its so grim isn't it. The other thing I tried was eating ritz or TUC crackers - something about the saltiness seemed to help and flat lemonade as well. I also ate a lot of boiled fruit sweets.

Bit odd and probably wouldn't work for everyone but I found that smells had a huge impact on the extent of my nausea. If someone a bit grubby walked past me in the street then that would be the difference between feeling awful and actually having to go and throw up.

I found that there were some smells that my body judged as being "clean." It helped to make sure that I came into contact with them once a day.

Showering or bathing with the right products meant that I would have a couple of hours respite and get some food down me (plain stuff of course). I would have to be careful though that I went from the shower to a sanitized environment eg: no nasty smells!

L'Occitane's verbena range suited- although it is a bit pricey. Waitrose Essentials Camomile and Vanilla shower and bath stuff suited well too and is a bargain at 99p for a bottle of either.

I lost count of the number of times that I could've told people to stick ginger biscuits somewhere unmentionable.

I feel for you I really do. MS is rotten. Carr's water biscuits helped for me- they are really bland and comforting. It's counter intuative but I found that as I found my nausea rising nibbling on these helped- even though normally I would not dream of trying to cram anything in my mouth when feeling so sick.

Good luck

ACUPUNCTURE - really works within 24-48 hours.

I suffered with this from 5 weeks pregnant to 17 weeks exactly with all 3 pregnancies, am now 23 weeks. It will pass, possibly sooner than mine did and you WILL feel better honest! Bloody miserable though. I tried accupucture but can't say it worked for me but have heard from others it can. Doc prescribed me about 4 different drugs but can't say they worked for me either but may well for you, everyone is different. Just got to eat what you want when you want, at least every 2 hours. I could only face food that was rubbish but it was either that or feel even worse, babies all fine anyway. Hope it passes soon for you, really is horrid but is meant to be a good sign of a healthy pregnancy! Get as much help as you can from people, I couldn't even face the kitchen, hubby brought some plug-in air fresheners but couldn't bear them either, don't think I could ever bear smelling them again! Try not to let it get you down, stress doesn't help, the time will pass and you will get through it. x x
