Been getting period like pains since Saturday, on and off but not like contractions (for longer) should I speak to midwife?

might be braxton hicks ? Its round the right sort of time to experience them and if you don't have any bleeding or any other symptoms sounds like most reasonable explanation. But talk to your midwife if you're concerned - that's what they there for ? Best of luck

Is that what Braxton Hicks are like, had 2 other kids but never had them before, the pain lasts for half an hour or more...

can be - I had dreadful BH with my second from about wk 28. So much so was told I had an unstable uterus!! It can be bloody painful. Is the bump tightening for the whole time that its happening ?

If its not bh's could just be the way the baby is lying. Out of interest are your dc's close together - I was told by midwife, the closer together you have them the worse the bh's can be as the uterus hasn't had time to get back in to shape

pains r just really low down and constant, just like period pains, went to midwife last week and baby is still head up (unless turned since then), dd1 is 6 and dd2 is nearly 3 so quite a good gap...?!

Yes I think you should speak to your midwife. It could just be braxton hicks but you need to be certain.

Urinary tract infections can cause these sorts of pain without the usual sort of UTI symptoms.

Might just be cos baby has turned ? If they're lasting for half an hour or so can't be a contraction. Maybe give the midwife/hospital a call just so they can put your mind at rest. I'm sure everything will be fine.

hi sella! like u am 31 weeks, when shopping yesterday i also had period type pains and had to sit down, they lasted about 15mins, before easing enough to walk, however i think mine are caused by a growth spurt, im sure ive expanded over last few days. xx
