isn't Calpol paracetemol anyway?
You'd be better off with a tablet I reckon

why would you take calpol rather than paracetamol?
it#s fine to take paracetamol whilst pregnant

There is no point taking a small amount of Calpol(Paracetamol) cause it won't do much anyway.

Doctors are very ready to give Paracetamol to pregnant women as soon as they complain of any pain/ache (I know I have lots of Docs in the family) so I don't see the harm in you taking some.

In all honesty the toddy wouldn't do the baby any harm either.

Calpol is only paracetamol anyway so you may as well take an adult sized dose. Hope you feel better soon.

thanks. i just like that calpol makes me sleepy and tastes nice...

just wondering if it was ok instead of hard white tablet (and yes I knew it is paracetemol among other flavours)

not trying to suffer like some martyr...just want to make sure I don't take anything I shouldn't...

mind you, it has just occured to me was on co-codomol last pregnancy for 3 weeks coz baby cracked one of my ribs.........

Thanks all. Agree hot toddy be fine at this stage if alcohol didn't make me wretch this pregnancy (hence no wine..)

Bummer.

Ta all.

do you mean calpol or medised?
only, there is nothing in calpol that would make you sleepy, but medised has an anti-histamine that would make you drowsy

no, i mean calpol. Am aware of what medised is and the differences.

calpol just made me sleep so well when I took it last year....always makes DS sleep well too. I LOVE the taste. Am sure it's totally in my head but quite frankly given I was awake from 12 until 4am last night, if taking it has placebo sleep effect then so be it I guess. I just meant it has sucrose, E numbers and flavours (got sugar version by mistake)

sugar is a million times better for you than weirdo chemical sweeteners. but why not just have a nice cocoa with sugar in? or chicken soup??

As soon as my waters broke i took 2 co-codomol (8/500), every four hours to help numb contractions! Worked, i got to hospital at 10cm!

Just take some tablets although i agree calpol is soo yummy!

Take the calpol if you want it. Take more than a child-sized spoonful though. Probably 4x dose to be equivalent to 2 paracetamol.

Placebo effect is very powerful, if you believe that it will make you better then it will.

Yes, take normal paracetamol, but take the normal adult dose. Taking a small dose won't do anything anyway.

I had headaches for the first half of my pregnancy - doctor told me to make sure I took a decent dose to get rid of the headache, rather than taking 1 200mg tab
