Pregnancy

Where are my pregnancy symptoms?!!

Hello all,

I am posting in the hope of getting some reassurance....I know I am being anxious and probably a bit neurotic.

Anyway......I am very happily pregnant after what seems like an age in getting there. This is baby no. 2. I am quite pragmatic and won't be properly excited till after 12 week scan though.

Though according to the pregnancy calculator I am 6 weeks (how come they work it out like that), I happen to know that really I am 4 weeks pregnanct since conception....(I kept charts and stuff). I have done 4 pregnancy tests that are all positive.

The thing is that with baby no. 1 I am sure by 6 weeks I felt tired and exhausted, my boob were so tender, and I did start to feel a bit sick. But at the moment I don't feel anything yet! I feel no more tired than usual, with a toddler on the go, my boobs don't feel sore, and I don't feel sick. I tell myself that maybe in a couple of weeks I will feel those things. I know this sounds a bit mad but in a way the symptoms are in themselves reassuring. I know I had a friend that with baby no. 2 didn't feel anything, and also the lady i see for acupuncture, she said with her two children she had no symptoms and only could tell she was pregnant by listening to heartbeat. I am having early scan at 8 weeks. Anyone got experience of this....sorry i know I am being silly.

Thanks all

Hi whippy, i am in the same position as you at the mo. I am about 6 and a half weeks pregnant, ive done 2 tests and both positive and i feel no symptoms at all apart from ever so slightly tender boobs but nothing to shout home about.

Im feeling more and more disheartened by the day as i keep thinking the worst but many people have reassured me that no symptoms is totally normal although i cant help but disbelieve them as i would expect to feel something.

Im going to docs soon i havent been since finding out but really would like to be reassured everything is ok although i know there isnt alot my doc could tell me other than im pregnant. Might ask for an early scan also as i really am fearing the worst.

Sorry this isnt a very reassuring reply is it! Just thought id let you know your not the only one who feels like this. I am actually wishing for morning sickness or something just to prove i really am pregnant.

Good luck!

hello to you both, I had exactly the same as you guys at 6-7 weeks, no symptoms what-so-ever....was quite worried, anyway I had to have a scan for bleeding and found all was good, asked the sonographer and her words were, 'stop worrying, a lot of ladies would kill to have no symptoms, make the most of it and stop moaning!!'

Anyway, am now 20+2 weeks and found out on Friday that I'm having a little boy

I didn't have symptoms with either of mine except for getting much larger and missing periods. I was 17 weeks with dd before I realised.

From the scare stories of morning to night puking, swelling, hormone rushes and tiredness I count myself really lucky.

wiz I had a feeling it was a boy, so wasn't surprised at all!!

It's strange not having any symptoms I keep having to remind myself that I am actually pregnant and I'm not making it all up! I feel very lucky indeed after the horrible sicky stories I have heard

Congrats on whatever mini-wiz is.....

Hello...

THANK YOU...for your replies...I am remindng myself that every pregnancy is different and now I can see that many people have no symptoms at all. Tish Tosh, hopefully your doctor will be sympathetic and you can have an early scan and put your mind to rest.

Hoops thanks for your reassurance.

Funnily since I wrote this I am at work (I work in a toy shop), I suddenly got a rush of nausea and felt quite sweaty with mouth watering. And an overwhelming feeling that I have to eat, I had it last night also, but I only ate a couple of hours ago! Then I walked past a food shop and the smell made me feel sick, then the thought of eating cheese made me feel sick again. I think this might be my symptoms. And I have notice that I need to eat loads at the mo...so I'm off to eat lots of carbs...!!!!

sorry to have to say it, but my sickness/extreme tiredness didn't kick in til around 7 weeks this time round (2nd pregnancy)so you may not have escaped it! I can understand why you would be worried, but I have plenty of friends who had completely symptom free pregnancies......I guess everyone is different X
