Starving Hungry at 8 weeks

Hi All
This is my second pregnancy and I'm absolutely starving all the time, is this normal?
I'm eight weeks and just can't stop eating all day. I'll eat a meal and then half an hour later my tummy is growling, is this normal?
I don't remember being this bad first time round but that was 4 years ago!
Any advise or sympathy would be helpful, my husband thinks it may be twins due to the extreme hunger.

I've always been mega hungry throughout in early pregnancy.... I've only ever had singleton babies, I guess it's just your hormones.

Me too. Had singleton with pg1; am hoping for the same this time around! Am 10 weeks and get hungry every 3 hours. Just make sure you're eating healthy foods and you'll be fine. It will pass.

yes normal

am now 22wks, my stomach capacity has reduced phenomenally and I can barely eat a sandwich without feeling full.

luck I have the lard from all those early-pg crumpets stored on my arse to keep me going...

Yeah yeah... ryvita with an inch of nutella on more like!

hips Schips... (and so on ad infinitum)

I tried soooo hard not to put on weight when I was pg with ds and still put on 4 stone, so this time I've given up totally. It must be something to do with being pg and running around after a toddler, but I'm not gaining nearly as fast as I did last time.

I was always hungry in all 3 (singleton) pgs - I found a large decaff latte and a chocolate muffin helped me greatly about 10am. And we couldn't keep Sugar Puffs in the house - DH swore I was going to give birth to the Honey Monster with DD2. And I don't even really like Sugar Puffs....

Hi, I'm now 20 weeks and have been starving hungry since the minute I stopped feeling sick! I have to get up and eat in the night! To make it worse, this time round my digestive system is not tolerating fruit and veg (sorry - TMI) so I'm not even managing to eat healthily!

I'm reckoning that I am using up a lot of energy chasing a madly energetic toddler ('aren't they all?' I hear you ask!) and therefore need more calories than the books suggest. Plus, I have always had a fast metabolism/tendency towards low blood sugar so I'm giving myself a break and not worrying about it. May not be feeling the same when I have a lot to lose post-baby, but hey... I work on dealing with the here and now.

p.s. sitting here eating bread and butter now so that I can brush my teeth shortly and not then have to start eating again straight after! I thought it might be twins too, but definitely not.
