Anyone else taking it? Im 21 weeks pg now with dc2.

I am sure I have low iron levels as have been tired all the time for last month or so, needed iron when pg with dd and a few people on here mentioned it in another thread.

My mum was told about Floradix by her pg friend today so she bought me a bottle!

If I am anemnic how fast will I feel better from taking it?

Hi, I'm a firm believer in Floradix, having sporadically taken it since my teenage years. 18 mths ago I was diagnosed with severed aenemia and felt so dreadful I have been extra careful ever since. Sooo, now at 21 weeks pg (what a coincidence I am taking some from time to time as I have been feeling like sleeping an awful lot. I think if you start taking it regularly you will soon feel on top form. It is very effective, safe in pregnancy AND you do not suffer from the usual constipation which comes hand in hand with normal iron supplements.

Knock it back first thing in the morning and you will soon be dancing around the kitchen!

I bought some of this the other day on recommendation of the midwife. It does taste awful. I'm only taking it once a day, as definitely can't handle it in the morning!!

I was recommended this by the midwife too. My haemaglobin was just above the level that they start prescribing iron tablets at, so she said try the Floradix and we'll repeat the blood test in a fortnight. Well, that was about a month ago and I must say for me it worked a treat! Blood test results much improved and I don't feel weak and crappy mid morning anymore.

I'm now 35 weeks and still chugging the Floradix twice a day: before brekkie and before dinner.

Does it taste awful? Maybe my expectations of good taste have been lowered by drinking a glass of prune juice every morning! (constipation - LOVELY)

Come to think of it both taste quite similar.

It tastes horrible!! I dread it but it makes 15 mo laugh when I drink it because of the face I pull!

Not sure blondieminx - I will ask my mw when I see her tomorrow and let you know

Hehe, if you can manage prune juice, you can definitely manage 10ml of Floradix! I have to say, it is better from the fridge, as you can't taste it at first due to the coldness!!

blondieminx I asked my mw yesterday if you can drink Floradix and take other supplements - She didnt know!!! She then said there was only a tiny amount of iron in anything you take anyway so it should be fine. That is the worlds worst midwife, I remember hating her when I was pg with dd.

Thanks lifeofkate - Mine is going in the fridge now
