Has anyone been prescribed any anti sickness or nausea drugs? I,m really nauseated all of the time. I wake up throught the night feeling sick - it never lets up. I have a 1yr old Ds and it's hard just to keep going with him through the day . I can't make it out of the house at the minute as I just want to wretch all of the time. Luckily i,m not sick and as long as I eat fairly bland foods i can keep my food down.I,m 7wks pg and the thought of going on like this for another few weeks is torture. I,m scared of taking any medication but i,m getting desperate. Has anybody any advise or experience of taking these drugsduring their pg thanks

Yes.
I had one, which I am afraid I can't remember the name of now, but it was a beta blocker and very safe. It has been used for years apparently. I tried various other remedies, but nothing helped except the medication.
It took the edge off the nausea and allowed me to function.

Find a friendly GP and ask for something - you do not need to suffer.

I took cyclizine whcih I looked up the medical advice on and thought it sounded very safe. This stops throwing up rather than nausea.

There is a thread on here called 'Morning Sickness Cyclizine and Grumbling' currently on page 2 whcih has lots of discussion of different types of medication for morning sickness. If things are not getting better I really recommend a trip to the GP.

I tried 4 different ones until I got one that worked - Zofran. It was amazing, but docs are loathe to prescribe it as it is expensive. You'll prob need to keep trying different ones.

This too will pass...

Are there really drugs which stop the nausea? I've been feeling sick since the end of February - on cyclizine which keeps the vomiting manageable.
I've been assuming all the drugs just dealt with the vomiting but didn't touch the nausea - has my suffering been in vain?!

I took something called Biochetasi which I think is just B vitamins (writing from Italy). Can't say it worked though. What really did work was salted popcorn. Hope you feel better soon - nausea's supposed to be a good sign, or so I was told after 2 miscarriages.

well ladies thank you very much for all your support and advise. Had a pretty tough day with it and managed to get a wee lie down when my ds went for a nap. I am going to make an appointment to see my gp, hopefully she will be able to prescribe something - I'll give anything a bash!maybe just gonna be trial and error peachpearplum I,ve also had 3 mc's and I didn,t have any sickness with those pg's but I did have terrible nausea and sickness with my ds, so hopefully it is a good sign that this pg is going well. It's just very hard when you're going through it to see the light
