Hi,

Had a positive home test result a couple of days ago which I took as my period was late. It's my third pregnancy.

This obviously indicates that I'm only a few weeks pregnant.

However the positive result has made me think. My stomach has got much bigger the last couple of months, ditto my breasts and I am now very aware of a definite fluttering in my belly, which you can actually see twitching. It's freaking me out a bit as like I say I've been having regular bleeding up until 4 weeks ago and no morning sickness, with my previous pregnancys I felt really sick pretty much from day 1.

Could I be further along in pregnancy than I realise even with the bleeding? My appointment with the GP isn't for another 2 weeks. Anyone in or had a similar situation?

Hi

I would suggest that you lie down and have a feel of your tummy. You should be able to feel your uterus if you are pregnant enough to see kicks, if you see what I mean. Gently push down and work from under your ribs down. The top of your uterus will feel harder than the rest of your tummy. It does sound like you might be more pregnant than you first thought. Go have a feel and report back!

the uterus does not usually rise out of the pelvis until around 12 weeks, you might well be seeing twitching/feeling fluttering due to blood flow and your intestines doing their thing etc....

you might be a few weeks futher on and the period you had was a bit of a bleed .. you might be carrying more than one baby hence more exaggerated symptoms

congratulations on your pregnancy

i would push for an earlier GP appt to get a dating scan ASAP esp. in case it is a multiple pregnancy

Thanks for advice, have had a good prod at my tummy and nothing obvious, so hopefully it's just the case that I've put on a bit of weight and have indigestion, not things I'd normally be hoping for! Might see if I can bring GP appointment forward just in case though.
