If you "just knew" the gender of your baby when pregnant, were you right?

I have a strong feeling this one if going to be a boy (had it last time too and he was)

Did you know what sex your baby was going to be right from the start? and were you right?

Yes, both times. Although I didn't tell anyone.

My dad always knows what someone is having too.

Anyone else? I just get the feeling that unless I produce at least 6 kids (which I'm not gonna!) I have no chance of having a girl! I just know this is another boy. He'll be very welcome, my existing boy is a delight, but I secretly crave a little girl!

I thought a girl all along until right at the end when I thought boy. He was a boy.

I am assuming I felt number 2 was a girl as we never had a boys name seriously picked. I had a girl.

I knew number 3 was a boy as the sonographer told us.

i had my 22 week scan last week and found I was having a girl -I am delighted but I KNEW she was: its my first pregnancy and I kid you not EVERYONE who has seen me, friends, family, my male boss all said they sensed it was a girl. I was convinced too and we were all right - must have been the vibes I was putting out there!

Yes, with my first pregnancy (too early to say with this one). But then it's 50-50 so not that remarkable.

Yes. But the odds were 50 50

Yes, and I was right with DD. I was so sure she was going to be a girl that when DH suggested a boys' name that I really wasn't keen on, I didn't bother to argue the toss...I loved the girls' name we had and knew that's what we'd use.

I am only 12 weeks pg with DC2, and I am not certain yet, although I have an inkling it could be a boy...or twins! Arrggghhh (scan on Monday, so will find out that it is just the one baby then...)

DS1, was wrong. Everyone said I was having a boy and I used to smirk to myself that only I knew I was having a girl. Even the MW's during labour, said "it must be a by, he's taking so long", I thought they were wrong
DS2, knew he was a boy fairly early on. Mom didn't like the girl's name we picked and kept offering suggestions but I didn't bother to get het up with her as I knew he was a boy.

Only the once so far - was utterly convinced I was having a boy and had SUCH a double take when the MW said she was a girl - was convinced she'd got it wrong. Had had a similar thing of not worrying overmuch about girls' names (we had no problems with boys') until the man at the launderette where DH got his shirts ironed told me I was expecting a girl and then reeled off umpteen successful guesses he'd had. Did at least make us decide on a girl's name (she was already overdue by then) although really didn't expect to need to use it.

Have strong boy vibes this time. Going to make sure we discuss choose names for boy and girl though based on the last time!

Yes - we didn't even have a realistic name choice for a girl. DP was equally sure.

But, as someone said, the odds were 50/50.

I knew I was pg as soon as I was, and that he was a boy - all before the blue line.

nope, wrong 4x

Report
lucky1979 · 10/09/2009 15:31

I was convinced that bump was a boy, but the scan says definitely girl.

I think it was because I had names picked out for a boy much earlier than for a girl, so the boy idea felt more real to me.

Now she's definitely my little girl though

Well I dreamed quite a long time ago that I would have two boys and told all my friends about it because it was so vivid. One fair with blue eyes and one dark with brown eyes. (DH didnt want the names I had in my dream which were Gabriel and Adam - they werent conciously chosen by me at the time but I do like them!)

Well DS is the fair one and DS2 is on the way, so, who knows - if he's a brunette with brown eyes maybe it was a premonition LOL!

I knew he was a boy, right from the very start. It was so weird. But I was just sure that he was, and the scan proved I was right

Yup - both times.

The scary part is that I have always said to DH that we will have two boys and then a girl. Even though I am currently convinced that we will stop at two. (Currently pregnant with DS2)

Curious to see if that instinct turns out right too

Kingsroadie · 10/09/2009 17:30

Ummm no! . Utterly convinced it was a boy and got the shock of my life when they said it was a girl. Very pleased though...

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 10/09/2009 18:26

I just feel it in my bones that I'll never have a girl. It feels impossible. I really would be more than happy with two boys but I don't think I'd feel totally done until I can have someone to buy sparkly things and dollies for.

Knowing my luck if I went for a third just to get a girl I'd end up with three boys. (I know, I'm an ungrateful cow)

Was absolutely sure with pg number 1 that it was a boy, and was right. This time (am nearly 10 wks with no. 2) am not so sure - going to have a gender scan this time as can't cope with the uncertainty (and need to know whether or not to redecorate currently blue nursery...!).

Now i didn't have a clue, but DS 'knew' from the moment i told him i was pregnant with DD - he told me what i was going to have, and he was right.

Also this time, he told me about 8 weeks ago what i was ging to have and last week we found out he was right. But we aren't telling anyone - including him - until it's born.

No. Convinced I was having a boy and out pops a little girl...Well, not quite 'pops!'....you know what I mean

Report
cheerfulvicky · 10/09/2009 19:57

Yep! I knew I was having a boy, was confirmed at the scan. My mum also thought it was a boy, and when I told her she yelled "YES!" and scared DP
