...but I have NO idea when my LMP was. None at all. I do know the date (yes, singular, grr) we had sex; should I just lie and make up a LMP date two weeks before that? Or should I confess? I have this feeling I'm going to get into trouble...

Confess. What's the point in lying?

Why do you say you're going to get into trouble?

why would you get in trouble?

just say you have had a positive test, but are unsure of your LMP ... no biggie at all

why should you get into trouble? (any more than you all ready are ) it's your body, your baby.
pick a day 2 weeks before you conceived.
and congratulations!

do you really have to go to the doc?
Our surgery prefers if you just leave your contact details and the MW then contacts you.

Saves wasting a doctors appointment.

Oh I don't know - I suppose I'm worried they pick a day that's too early and then start trying to induce too soon at the other end. HAve had fairly long cycles in the past, so was always concerned I'd be pushed to induce too soon if they worked it out on a 28 day cycle - I was v overdue with my first, but I suppose that's less likely with a second anyway.

OBAA - with a name like that please do not do an InShockAndAwe on us.

Don't lie, you will tie yourself in knots.

Just say you are unsure of your LMP.

You will have a dating scan anyway.

don't worry about datingat this stage - they will do that at the 12 week dating scan

JRocks · 10/09/2009 12:39

But they can alter your date with the dating scan anyway so it's not too much of a drama. You won't be the first not to have kept meticulous period records!

Intrigued...

Got us all excited as she found out she was pregnant and had no clue how it had happened. She went for an immediate private scan and then we barely heard a dickie bird after and we still don't know who it was.

Oh well, I know how it happened - was due to shoddy contraceptive practices (ie none) and an excess of holiday bonhomie. You wouldn't think I was supposed to be a responsible adult, would you? But no clue at all sounds even more distracting. MAybe she sat on a spunky loo seat?

When I got pg with DD2, I was still bf'ing DD1 and hadn't had a period since getting pregnant with DD1. Made for an entertaining chat with the dr:

What is the date of your LMP?
Er, May 12th... 15 months ago...

They just guesstimate and push for an early dating scan so it's no problem honestly. My due date was set by the first scan I had, when I turned out to be 10 weeks.

I didn't really know my LMP this time round, so I kind of made one up but told the MW this when I saw her. All it meant was that I got my dating scan a bit sooner which in my mind was a bonus, I had to wait over 2 months with DS!
