Pregnancy

eee... my back!

OK so I'm only 13 weeks pregnant (this is my first post!) but am having nasty back pains and sciatica. I know it isn't a kidney infection as I have had sooo many in the past (thanks to PCOS!) and I'm not usually prone to a bad back at all. All the books say this is a third trimester thing but has anyone else experienced pain this early on? Or does anyone have some advice for me?

Thanks
Aok

ooo...me hips

Everythings softening up, you've just got to be really careful what you do cos it's so easy to do yourself some damage, esp your back. Just bending over to wash my face gets my back, honestly, kids...who'd 'ave 'em??

It can definitely happen earlier thanks to those lovely ligament-softening hormones!

I recommend sleeping with a pillow/cushion between your knees, and trying not to sit for too long at one time or stand for too long at a go. If pain still bad ask to see a phyio (or find one privately- a lot quicker than waiting for a referral via GP- and not overly expensive).

Good luck!
