Well I'm well and truly in the third trimester and my heartburn is outrageous.

Any hints / tips on what food is best?

Rennee and lots of it. Stay of the spice, citrus and fizzy drinks

Curries (the hotter the better) were about the only thing that didnt give me heartburn.

eat your tea early, 4 hours before bed at least. Get to LOVE gaviscon! and same as what salleroo says. Bland potato and pastas are not so irritating, creamy things goodto (anything that is alkaline to counteract the stomach acid)

Milk based stuff was the only thing that worked for me. I swear dd was made up almost entirely of rice pudding and strawberry milkshake smile

Milk is acid it will exacerbate it.

You need lots of yogurt as it will neutralise the acid in your tummy.

I was told thin by a nice little indian doctor who caught me naked kneeling on some towels whilst heaving from the acid, coughing from the burnt larynx from bringing up the acid and peeing myself all the the same time whilst heavily pregnant with DS! (Oh the humiliation!)
