movement from 17 weeks.....

I posted on here about 2 weeks ago as i'd felt baby moving, well it was like little bubbles. Then i felt nothing till Friday just gone, in the morning i was rubbing my belly and finger tapping as i do every day, and had 2 very faint kicks. Since Friday i think i have felt the baby move every day, primarily in the morning and whilst at work Saterday i was sure i felt him/her swim past my belly button, and a girl who i work with put her hand on me and said she felt it!

Is it possible to feel this movement so soon? I'm sure the feeling i feel is baby moving as i've never felt this before i pregnant.

Thanks for any suggestions, and nope its def not wind as i can tell the difference. My poor DH had his hand on my belly this morning and could not feel baby moving, but i could feel him swimming about and i'd love him to be able to share this with me.

yup, can def feel it this soon, esp. if you're quite aware of your body. unlikely that others would be able to though, he has to get strong enough to actually distort your belly - dunno what girl in the office felt!

I felt my son move at 18 weeks - felt exactly like little spasms or bubbles. If you're slim, you will feel the baby move earlier than larger ladies.

im not slim nope but i know ive definately felt baby moving about, and its not like bubbles.

Obviosuly as this is my first time and i have not had a scan at the same time to say oh did he move etc, i may be wrong, but i have never felt anything like this before and so I am adamant its baby moving, although very happy to accept work colleague did not feel anything.

I remember at 17 weeks, I felt the little 'spasms' (a bit like your eye spasms when you're tired) and a friend of a friend said "oh no, you won't feel the baby yet".

A couple of weeks and those spasms got stronger and they were movements. So it is possible to feel at 17 weeks. That was my first pregnancy.

If the whole slimness thing is right, I'll have to wait longer with this pregnancy then

no, i think they are proper movements you are feeling - I get them too and I am now 20 weeks but they started about 16 weeks. Sometimes it is a 'spasm' but other times it is definitely a swift kick!

phew thankyou heaven! your 20 weeks, are you finding it all a bit tiring and are you like me eating everything in sight!?

DH got me some lovely ice cream from the freezer the other night whilst at the same time calling me a human hoover making the obligatory sucking noises hoovers make! LOL i had not laughed as much. I've turned into a gannit!!

For me, the spasms turned into definite movements - am sure they are movements you are feeling too.

Trust your instincts. People seem very keen to tell me that what I can feel is not my baby moving (nearly 18 weeks like you). I'm not sure why they think they know what I'm feeling, or feel compelled to piss on my strawberries! For me it's a sensation I've never ever felt before, plus when mw was listening to the heartbeat with the doppler, we could hear the baby moving, and I could feel corresponding movements.

Even my dear old dad said to me the other day "well you have just had a big dinner". To which I replied "Dad, I have been digesting food for 28 years, I know what it feels like! And last time I checked, my intestines weren't in my uterus!"

You know your body and you know what is and isn't familiar to you. How lovely! You are feeling your baby move.

thankyou joy and sheep your absolutely right, people tend to go by what it says on the net ie we should only feel bubbles etc but like you ive been digesting food for 28 years to!

Is this your first baby too? Isn't it all so amazing! Whats your due date?

Im saying this after my trip to sainsbos and eating pork pies, cheese n onion crisp rolls and generally feeling fabby!

hi iateallthecreameggsyummy - i agree with joy, trust your instincts, you know what feels like things you've felt before and new experiences. people will tell you things left right and centre - and it gets more and more frequent! i'm a big believer in trusting your instinct as a mum.

this is my second dc (i have a boy who's 22 months old) - it is amazing, but i am so much more tired and sick this time around. i'm only 10 weeks, so i'm hoping a couple of weeks and i'll feel a bit better again.

but very funny to read your food comments - it's funny how your brain becomes obsessed with food when pregnant isn't it!

Yes I find myself digesting rather more food than usual now too!

I am due in Jan and it is our first- we're very excited indeed. Been feeling pretty crap physically but that seems to be getting better now and I'm loving having a (very small) bump!

Your post has made me hungry. How long til lunch?
