Is a dull achey lower abdomen normal in very early pregnancy?

Hi -had a BFP on Friday (having miscarried in July at 5 and a half weeks) - so excited but paranoid. My lower abdomen is achey on left and right sides intermittently and I'm a bit scared it's all going wrong again. This is dc2 but I can't remember feeling anything much in the first 8 weeks with ds. Any ideas anyone?

Yes that's entirely normal. It'll probably last about two weeks, it's just the hormones kicking in which in turn have an effect on your bowels which makes them ache a bit. Don't stress, it's normal, normal, normal. Have had this with both urchins.

Oh thank you thank you - I thought it was probably bowel related but couldn't stop worrying.

Yes normal. I couldn't understand why my period hadn't turned up when I had period pain. It wasn't period pain. Can last a few weeks. Good luck and congratualtions.

All sounds perfectly normal. Even in the early days I think your uterus starts to stretch which can cause period type pains - a kind of "under construction" feeling.

Would echo normal, first time I came on here it was for exactly this reason. Was having what felt like really bad period pains, twisting pains in ovary-area on both sides, doubled over a couple of times. Was convinced I was going to have eptopic or MC but the lovely people here were confident all was normal and sure enough I am now 18 weeks. Mine lasted for about the first two months, still have occasionaly twinges. GOOD LUCK

I'll second that Helpet, thanks! Am 6 weeks and getting these dull achey pains. Was pretty worried as first time PG but reading this makes me feel at least a bit more normal!
