i am 37 wks and have been taking these a t2 a day since 36 wks, and 3 a day since 37 wks. should they be taken all at once, or spread out i.e 1 3x a day, and had anyone been recommended to take more? i read on t'internet you could take up to 2 3x daily.

TIA

I spread them out last time - can't remember why, but I built up gradually to max dose, but spread out through the day.

hmm, maybe i ought to aim for 3 times a day then. it's not clear at all on the packaging.

TBH thinking about it now it might just have been to minimise wretching. After ms in the first trimester I became very prone to wretching & found taking pills very hard. Looking back (given that I can't remember my reasoning - just know that I did it) it's possible I spread them out so as not to have to take 6 pills in one go.

So you might be as well to ignore me!

Could I ask a very silly question (26 weeks with my first, pregnancy still seems like the great unknown!) Why are you taking them? What are they for? at my ignorance!!

they are an alternative to raspberry leaf tea (bleurgh!) which is said to tone the uterus and make contractions, when they come, more effective.
(i think, this is what i have been told, please feel free to contradict, anyone!)

be warned though they make braxton hicks a lot stronger or they have done with me !!

Yes they certainly can make BH stronger (last time I didn't feel a single BH until I started on the RLT) but they won't bring on labour before it's ready. What they do is make the contractions more efficient when they actually happen. So they are completely safe.

But it is wise to gradually up the dose - eg add one dose per week, so you don't suddenly get overwhelmed by the increased strength of the BH.
