How far along are you? Are you puffy anywhere else?

My ankles and feet get really puffy if I stand or sit for a while - I need to get horizontal and feet up (above level of heart - just a footstool isn't enough for me!) and then they go down in an hour or so.

If they don't go down, worth getting your blood pressure checked. As I expect you know, being very puffy can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, which needs medical attention!

I get DH to massage them with a cooling gel I bought, plus have them up resting on my exercise ball while we watch TV in the evening.

cies how lucky , my DH just sort of taps them absentmindedly and gets annoyed when I ask him to do it differently - if I don't like it, don't ask, is his attitude! And I love my feet being massaged .

I put them in a bowl of cool water for 10 mins. then up on a foot stool with no shoes, socks or slippers on.

Drink lots and lots and lots of fluids.

Cies, I am also . Pavlov, my DH does the same as yours and I'm lucky if he doesn't stop after 30 seconds - and I also love having my feet massaged. Shame I can't train the dog to do it - she's very eager to please!

Zippy - is this your first LO? Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl?

I have a little girl, and I am training her to brush my hair, she is 3, and this afternoon she brushed my hair ever so gently, and she almost has it right! she is 3, I have been with DH for 10 years and he still can't/won't do it right! I think she is a little too young for feet massage, but I am working on that one!

Hi Pavlov, yes, 1st and 2nd LO (twins!). Don't know thesex (DH wanted a surprise). I am so excited - and uncomfy - 31 1/2 weeks along. They've been a long time coming (trying 6 years) so I feel like I should be enjoying every second, but, well, the cankles, the spots, the HUGE NOSE (is that just me??)... I look like Gloria from Madagascar (but less perky..)

ps well done on training your dd. I'll get onto that once the DTs have mastered hand/eye coordination!

Oh zippy - how exciting! Boys love brushing mama's hair too, so you have double chance of teaching them ! Good luck with the rest of your pg!

My ankles are not too bad, unless for example DH drags me around Ikea for 6 hours ! (yesterday)

6 hrs I would have been snoozing on one of those IKEA beds in no time.
Best of luck with your pg too

I notice that if I cut back on salt/ salty foods and drink more water, it helps. Also keeping my feet up helps - but I can't get them above the heart level. My belly is in the way ... I'm 30 weeks totally understand what you're saying

Last time mine were really bad. Plunging them into really quite cold water was the best thing. And yes also keeping them high up - for example lying on the sofa with the feet on the sofa arm helped.
