I thought I'd start a thread for anyone who feels like the only person going through an aspect of pregnancy.

I feel like I'm the only one who's worried at 17/18 weeks, I can't feel sprog, hear sprog or generally tell sprog is ok so how do I know they are?

hi there, I felt exactly the same at 17-20 weeks - I hadn't gained any weight, hadn't had morning sickness & hadn't felt any movements! If it wasnt for the scans I would have thought baby was a figment of my imagination... BUT now I'm 28 weeks, have gained 10lbs overnight, been diagnosed with diabetes & am having sleepless nights from being kicked around like a beachball all night long every night so be careful what you wish for...

Seriously - don't worry (or if you DO worry overly, ask a midwife to have a listen to heartbeat for you), you will soon feel plenty of fidgeting around (feel like little bubbles at first, then unmistakable) - enjoy!

Hi Amarantha. Is this your first pregnancy? I'm 14+1 at present but I do remember being at your stage last time and thinking the same thing. Sickness better, MW don't want to see you for ages and no definite movements. I used a sethoscope to listen in myself but I can't remember when I was fist able to hear ds1. Generally I think you should just enjoy feeling good again - it won't last, you'll soon be massive, unable to sleep and plagued by kicks and squirming! Worrying about anything and everything seems to be a very common pregnancy symptom!

I think everyone feels a bit like that until you feel them moving around - that should happen fairly soon, and then you will have the 20 wk scan. You just have to trust that everything is going fine inside, make sure you feel you are doing the best for baby and enjoy your midwife appointments!

We bought an Angelsounds doppler from Amazon, when we started to feel that way - before you can really feel baby, and you get anxious about what's going on in there - it definitely helped!

Nowadays we don't have that problem (I'm 37 weeks), but it's used occasionally so I can listen to her hiccup!

Thanks for the reassurance, I'm at the midwife on Wed and then have my scan in 3 weeks. It is my 1st Kitty, I might just get a doppler or stethoscope so that I feel better, thanks for the recommendations.

I feel exactly the same!! I am 17 and a half weeks (EDD 7th Jan) and have a dd of 2 and a half. I am in maternity clothes already but still look 'thick' around the middle rather than an actual bump.

No movements yet, no MS, just very tired and huge boobs. Everthing fine so far at scans, OSCAR and heard HB but it is that awful inbetween time.

I really am holding onto the thought that movements should start any day for me. I can still clearly remember the day with dd and literally from that day I felt her every single day and it really really gives you every bit of reassurance that you are wanting - you just have that horrible few weeks still to wait.

I totally sympathise with you as I can't wait for that reassurance either .
