horrible toothache

I'm over 36 weeks and have horrible toothache where I had root canal a few years ago that didn't work and is now a 'phoenix infection' which keeps flaring up.

Usually I take antibiotics or rub on that novocaine gel - I'm assuming both these are off the menu?

Is there anything I can get from the chemist to tide me over till tomorrow?

Dentists will pres antibiotics during pregnancy. The best thing to ease pain from an infection is cold water held in the mouth to sooth the pressure and heat. However if it is a nerve problem cold water will make the pain worse.

Clove oil is nasty and doesnt really help, it just ends up burning the gum.

Call NHS Direct for local emergency dental service at weekends, however most only work till lunch
