As this is my second baby I'm not seeing the mw again until I'm 28 weeks... do I need to make an appt with my gp to get a signed mat b1 form?

No mw can do it.

so I'd need to make an extra appt to see the mw, because I won't be seeing her until 28 weeks which is too late to submit the mat b1 form IIRC?

you need to do it 15 weeks before your due date IIRC

you can get it from your GP

i submitted mine at 24 weeks

So I will have to see someone at least before I'm 25 weeks?

they can give it any time after 20 weeks i think ... but not sure when the precise cut off is but for some reason 15 weeks before EDD rings a bell

If you see them at 25 weeks you can get your health in pregnancy grant form at the same time, so at least you will get £190 for the hassle of the extra app!!

Yes, Assuming you work and want to take paid maternity leave you need to give this to your employer before 25 weeks.

In the current economic climate I wouldn't take risks!
