I know, I know, you'll all shout 'just bloody test!' but.....

We have been TTC for quite some time now (not been back on contraception since having ds 3 years ago) but have only been 'seriously' trying for about 10mths.

Pretty much every other month I have lots of pg symptoms, I'm thinking alot of them were actually in my head , spend a fortune on tests, only to be disappointed.

However, this month is very different. The first day of my last period was June 11th (39 days ago) which makes my period late by about a week - however I'm not ridiculously regular give or take a few days.

I have been convinced I am def not pg as we only had sex once this month and that was on about the 25th June but then about a week or so later I had a bout of raw egg white type discharge (which I believe is a sign of ovulation) and we def did have sex at this time.

Funnily enough though my mate asked me if I was pg as I was acting differently - I wasn't sure what she meant by that and she couldn't explain it either! Also, dh said he has feelings that I am (he told me to test with ds even though I had no idea and wasn't even late!!)

So now I'm thinking, right then, maybe I am but I just don't feel it, nor do I want to spend and fortune on tests again only to read a negative and wtf was all the egg white discharge about?? Could that actually be possible in pregnancy?

Go on, tell me to test

right
ebay pg tests - think you get 5 for about £2 or £3 including P&P and they seem accurate enough (seem well thought of on here and they worked for me )
Get them NOW and they could be here tomorrow or Wednesday
then JUST BLOODY TEST

Sorry not sure what the issue is here, youve been ttc, your period is late????

What is it you want to know?

Report
Chloe55 · 20/07/2009 11:54

I think what I actually want to know is could egg white discharge be an early pg symptom?? I have googled it and it comes up with thats what you get when you ovulate - I either haven't noticed it in previous months or have but just didn't pay attention. I knew you'd shout

FFS!! Why are you asking all us randoms about your mucus.

Again youre ttc, youre late, go to Asda and spend a whopping £4 on a test.
50 people on here couldm tell you it is a symptom and you might get a BFN or they could tell you the same and you'd get a BFP

Cheers Mosschops, thought I could discuss my mucus to randoms who are faceless as it's not something I fancy discussing with anyone else. And, a whopping £4 is actually quite a bit in our household at the mo or I would have tested a week ago!!

Aside from that, I know you're right, I need to test - just wanted someone to say no, that's def ovulating or oh yeah, I got that too iykwim.

just type preg tests into amazon, they are the ones they say they use in the hospitals, just a little strip, but they work well enough, and you get to test loads of times and if positive, see the line get darker day by day!!

Right - well egg white discharge can be a sign of ovulation but lots of women find their discharge changes in pregnancy so it could also be that.

If your period stays away then test. If you aren't pregnant this month then for next month try a bit more sex - once a month is always going to be a bit hit and miss in the ttc stakes!

LOL I wondered who would pick up on the lack of sex! Lets just say holidays, illnesses and a lack of motivation have been to blame this month

Thanks ever so much Madmissy - I have spoken to dh and he is actually gonna pick me one up from the chemist as he said they are £2 there, he has apparantly been waiting for me to ask him.

Will let you all know in the morning. Thanks. Bet I'm not though
