Hello,

I'm 40 wks + 4 and am feeling round and uncomfortable. On top of that am being harrassed from everyone from the postman to my neighbours with ' is it here yet?'

People keep telling me to hurry up- WTF!?!

So please post if you were overdue- what did you do to get things started- am seriously thinking castor oil as the only thing I have not tried!

Also fellow over due peeps feel free to post for a good moan- misery loves company! And hopefully we can keep the thread going for a while until we pop!

pippa - i have had 4 babies, every one late - the worst being 14 days late. I myself was 14 days late (so no sympathy from my mother, who feels it is only my due after what i put her through!). I've tried pineapple, curry, sex, reflexology, rasberry leaf tea etc etc. The only thing which worked for me was castor oil, which i used with babies 2, 3 and 4 and i went into labour within hours with each of them. But with number 4 i started bleeding as the labour started which made it an anxious time, so I wouldn't recommend it. The midwife told me it can cause fast strong labour which may have caused the bleeding. Am now 38 week pregnant and can't bear the thought of another 4 weeks. This time I'm going to add acupuncture to the list - have friends who swear by it - so fingers crossed. But am planning to beg the hospital to induce me asap after my due date. I may lay in the reception area of the delivery suite and cry until they agree.....

Arrgh!I was due on the 3rd....seen consultant the other day and she was not at all concerned...

'this baby will come when it's ready'.

Wow. Thank you. So reassuring. Drinking copious amouts of raspberry tea. Have packed/repacked my bags countless times. Turned off my phone yesterday because if I got another text message asking if I popped yet I would've ran outside to play with the traffic.Girl in shop asks everytime I'm in there'have ya not had that baby yet?' No. Does it look like it? Am not going to shop anymore. Hope you have popped by now Pippa

no baby stil, Today is the worst day so far!

Me and DP went for a walk this morning to get things moving- which resulted in me throwing up lots

I then returned home and had really bad runs- it seems everything wants to come out of me apart from my baby!

i then went to buy castor oil this morning and the shop had run out so I started to cry! Then i shouted at DP telling him how I've really let myself down by going overdue- stupid I know but my hormones are raging!

I don't know how you're coping Boodlepoop

Garibaldigirl I plan to go for accupuncture at the weekend if nothing has happened by then!

Hi there,

40 + 6 today, bored and frustrated!
I've had the runs on & off since last Thursday and really believed things were starting. Had sweep on Monday, and having another coming Monday. I just really want this baby out, so uncomfortable and housebound. Want some freedom! Repacked my bag so many times that I've lost track of what's in it! Hope it won't be much longer for all of us.

Hi I am overdue too I am 40 + 3. I have tried everything essential oils, curry, went for a 3 hour walk, sex, pineapple, birthing ball, breast pump, nothing has worked.

I have had period pains and upset stomach every night since week 37 baby been engaged to 2/5 since week 38 and cervix 3 cm but baby just does not want to come out.

On the plus side at most 1 week and a half left. Also I have a very stuffy wedding that involves an over night stay that I apparently must attend even though I could have a two week baby and a 3 year old.

However I have informed them that if baby is induced I will only attend the evening do so if she stays at least I wont have to sit in chuch trying to bf while control a 3 year old that has been stuck in a hot car for 3 hours.

Hey, im 41+2 Days today with my first baby and had 2nd sweep this morning and so far nothing has happpened apart from a bit of bleeding! i feel very low and disheartned, the baby isnt engaged and hasnt been since week 38 wen it was only 3/5ths anyway! i am 2cm dilated and 1 cm long so at least something is happening! But left midwife very confused and upset today, she had no positive comments to say and ended up leaving me confused saying it could be that i have a tilted womb, that they baby wont fit my pelvis (i am 5ft9 so fairly large frame and baby is average size, so hoping not likely) and she said that it was harder to reach cervix this time than last sweep and she said to prepare myself to have a c-section coz baby might never engage! I am booked in to be induced on Wed at 9am i wanted a natural birth so badly, and i feel very upset and confused after todays appointments! Its def not fun being late is it? Ive tried walking miles and bouncing on my ball for hours on end, and still nothing!

Lol i do feel better after having a moan, and although i know it wont be longer than another 5 days i still feel down!

Also ive heard some negative comments about Castor oil, so be careful when using it!

Goodluck to all the overdue ladies! Not long to go now, hang in there!!

i have a theory why our babies are late- i think they presumed with due dates in july they would be born into nice sunny weather so the rain is making them think it's not their time?

Or perhaps not......

I think I would prefer the baby to be born now whilst the weather is cool and rainy. they say the maternity suite gets terribly hot and they can't use air con in the hospital.

it's starting to really get to me now - i know there's nothing you can do to control it but I feel like such a let down- like i've spoilt the birth already because i'm overdue- i just can't imageon labour happening antime soon and it feels like all the excitement about waiting has been drained away.

Plus people keep asking me and telling me to hurry up- i'm sure DP is getting pissed off about the situation and i feel like i'm to blame

I feel like that too, that nothing is ever going to happen, i cant imagine atm going into labour before being induced, ive had to sweeps and barely a twinge! People keep asking us as well, dont worry about it too much, baby will come when redi and it really wont be long before you are holding the lil bundle in your arms! weve waited 9 months we can wait a few more days (Lol im trying to fill myself with confidence as i write this)

Not much longer now!
