Swine flu has broken out in the village i live in and kids at the nursery have it as well as a couple of older kids that my husband teaches at the local school. he had contact with the kids about a week ago. We have a todler but I am also worried because im 28 weeks pregnant. Cant ring my MW as is a saturday. What would you do?

Unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do but wait and see. Even though you are pregnant if you do get it you'll still much more likely to be fine than not. Keep an eye out for any swine flu symptoms (but bear in mind that things like a temperature could still be due to other kinds of infection so don't assume something is swine flu and accidentally miss something like a UTI). If you do get it I think I'm right in thinking they will give you Relenza as you're in an at-risk group due to pregnancy, but they won't do that until you have symptoms. Make sure you've got a thermometer and paracetemol and so on in the house, keep well rested as far as possible, and have your NHS number and telephone numbers for GP, MW and out of hours docs as well as NHS Direct somewhere easy to find in case you need to use them. Once you've done all that, relax and don't worry too much, as most likely you will be absolutely fine.
