Bleeding from Bloodvessel in Uterus

Hi all, this is my first post so please be gentle with me

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and for the last couple of weeks have been bleeding very heavily. Seems to happen about once a week, just a flood of bright red blood, I get through 2 thick sanitary pads and then it stops. There's never any accompanying pain thankfully.

Baby is fine (I've been checked out 4 times since it started happening) and growing normally. Docs don't seem to really know what's causing it and the latest suggesting is that it's a blood vessel in my uterus.

I'm confident about my pregnancy as (touch wood) I'm 8 weeks and everything seems just fine, but I just wondered if any other ladies had ever experienced this?

Thanks all.

Hi,
I had something similar to you, quite a lot of red blood every couple of days. I had a scan at 10 weeks and baby is fine thankfully. They diagnosed a sub chorionic bleed, or a clot just below the placenta that kept bleeding every now and then until it dissolved. At least i hope it has dissolved! Very very scary to see bright red blood when you are pregnant and it sounds like your bleeding is worse than mine, im glad your baby is ok. Take care.

Thanks for the response.

I've been told baby is fine and developing well. That's what makes the whole thing so odd and scary. There's no pain, just lots and lots of red blood about once a week, including a few horrible big clots/jelly like lumps (TMI - sorry!).

I'm so pleased your baby is well and your bleeding sounds like it's stopped. I hope mine will eventually as I don't want to carry on like this for nine months.
